The Oceans Seven
Swimming's Ultimate Challenge
What are the Oceans Seven?
The Oceans Seven is one of the greatest challenges in marathon swimming, inspired by mountaineering’s Seven Summits. It consists of seven gruelling channel swims across the globe, each with its unique set of challenges - from freezing temperatures to powerful tides and relentless currents.
The seven swims are:
-
English Channel - England to France
-
North Channel - Ireland to Scotland
-
Cook Strait - New Zealand
-
Kaiwi Channel - Hawaii, USA
-
Strait of Gibraltar - Spain to Morocco
-
Catalina Channel - California, USA
-
Tsugaru Strait - Japan

My Oceans Seven Journey
Completing the Oceans Seven in one year was a life-changing experience. It pushed me to the limits of my physical and mental endurance, and it tested everything I thought I was capable of.

Over the course of 12 months, I swam through freezing waters, relentless tides, and unpredictable conditions. But it wasn’t just about the swims - it was about proving what’s possible when you combine purpose with sport.
Along the way, I was fortunate to set several records, including becoming the first person to complete the challenge in a single year, and raise over $50,000 AUD for mental health awareness.

Each swim brought its own unforgettable challenges and lessons, and together, they made for a journey I’ll never forget.
